Payment, currencies and VAT

How and when you pay for a reservation, which currency you pay in, and when VAT is added.

You pay for the whole reservation upfront, when you book. There's no subscription and nothing is charged later.

Paying

When you press Reserve, we hold your days and send you to a secure Stripe checkout page. You can pay by card; Apple Pay and Google Pay work too where your device supports them. Promotion codes aren't available.

Your days are held for about 30 minutes while you pay, so nobody else can take them. If you don't finish in time, the hold is released and the days become available again.

  • Paid: you land on My Reservations, where the reservation shows as Upcoming, and we email you a confirmation with the receipt.
  • Went back without paying: you return to the reservation page with everything you chose still filled in, and the held days are released.
  • Closed the tab: the hold simply expires. If you reserve again on the same plan, your unfinished checkout is replaced. While it's open, the reservation page offers Complete payment.

Your payment is confirmed as soon as you return from Stripe. If your connection drops after paying, Stripe tells us anyway and the reservation is confirmed within moments.

A payment that completes late

In rare cases a payment completes after its hold has run out — for example, when a bank's verification step takes a long time. If your machine is still free, the reservation is confirmed as normal. If it was taken in the meantime, we move your reservation to another free machine of the same type. If none is free, the payment is refunded in full, automatically, and we email you.

Prices on the site are always shown in your currency. The country is taken from where you are when you visit, and saved with your account when you sign up; after that, your account's country decides. Your country is shown in Settings. If it's wrong, contact us.

VAT

Prices are shown without VAT. VAT is added at checkout where it applies — currently for customers in Ireland, at 23%. For example, a €20 day costs €24.60 in Ireland.

The reservation page summary and the Stripe checkout both show the subtotal, the VAT and the total before you pay, and your receipt itemises them.

Countries

Reservations are open to customers in the EU, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Elsewhere, the site shows "This is still not available in your country."

Receipts

Every payment has a Stripe invoice and receipt. The confirmation email includes the details, and Billing in your dashboard lists every payment with a link to its invoice. See Payments and receipts.
